About Us

In 2012, a group of friends created a golf event to raise money for cancer research. The passion was created by a loss to all of us. Jim Brau was a father, a mentor and a friend amongst the group; he passed away after battling cancer for years, in May of 2011. Jim Brau was an active member in our community, volunteering his time and handyman skills for countless of individuals and organizations. His generosity and caring for others has touched many people’s lives and has inspired the group of friends to follow his example.

The first year of the event was a great success, over 100 participants showed up to support the cause. Throughout the next year, work continued and another successful event was held. We immediately realized the financial benefits this annual event could bring to cancer research organizations. We also identified the need to create a government recognized non-profit organization to support the donations of those supporting the event.

After much work The Nebraska Foundation for Cancer Research was founded on September 1, 2013.

The Nebraska Foundation for Cancer Research is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The organization’s status can be verified on the IRS.gov website . The organization’s IRS Employer Identification Number is 46-2149214.
